======Adjustments To Web Cluster For Elections======

Notes about the adjustments to the Web cluster for elections seasons.

=====2015 Out Of Season=====

During the 'regular' part of the year where we experience fairly low/average traffic(other than some spikes here and there) the setup is kept fairly small.

|=|Qty|=|Use(s)|=|Instance Type|=|Details||
||2||Multi-Purpose||c3.2xlarge||8 cores, 15GB RAM, 2x53GB EBS volumes||

=====2015 State Elections(No Federal)=====

This is all state and local elections. Traffic will generally be lower than a federal elections, but some scaling should happen.

For very heavy load times, the ratio of web to db servers will be 2:1.

|=|Qty|=|Use(s)|=|Instance Type|=|Details||
||2-4 (dependent on demand)||Web||m4.xlarge||4 cores, 16 GB RAM, 1x30GB EBS volume||
||2||Database||c3.2xlarge||8 cores, 15GB RAM, 2x53GB EBS volumes||

====Web Heads====

Web heads will be setup to utilize a TON of RAM for caching and processes/threads will be 10x5 instead of 5x5 that we run during most of the year.

====Database====

The multiN servers will be re-purposed into database servers. Web servers will be disabled and Postgres will be configured to utilize a lot more memory. Redis configuration is likely to stay the same.
