AOC Monitors
24 AOC 20" LED 16:9 monitors were deployed for staff, with the replaced LCD monitors to in turn replace the existing CRT monitors.
Linux installation notes
- Copy the following line to /etc/gdm/Init/Default, immediately prior to /sbin/initctl -q emit login-session-start DISPLAY_MANAGER=gdm:
xrandr --output VGA1 --mode 1600x900
Note: This will dedicate this particular machine to that mode...should have probably added a lower-resolution mode as well, just didn't think about it.
- Replace monitor
- Execute /etc/init.d/gdm restart
Vista installation notes
As expected, installation in Vista is problematic, as there is no native support for 1600x900. The closest resolution that's acceptable is 1600x1200. Do not attempt to install the VGA driver from the Zotac site! It doesn't work, and will require much time on your part to remove the driver, reboot, etc.CategoryITDoc
