Candidate Email

The Political Courage Test Email, politicalcourage@votesmart.org, is advertised to candidates and typically only receives candidate inquiries. These inquiries often include login information requests or questions/complaints about the test. The Elections Director will be responsible for monitoring the email on a daily basis and responding to most emails from candidates. When candidates have questions about the work of another department (for example, why one of their endorsements isn't listed on our website), the Director can work with that department to respond. Media inquiries should be forwarded to the Development and Communications department.

The Political Courage Test Email also receives all submission notices when candidates take the Political Courage Test, submission notices when candidates submit bio information, and photo submissions from candidates in the form of attachments to edit and process. The Political Courage Test Administrator will be responsible for processing test submissions as they come in and keeping track of consent form. The Elections Director and PCT team will also be responsible for processing bio submissions, or delegating this work. The Political Courage Test team will be responsible for processing photos as they come in or delegating that task to the Profiles team as necessary.

During busy administration periods, additional email sorting may be necessary to differentiate high and low priority emails. As deadlines approach, make sure to prioritize login information requests.
