Every week you will be asked by your supervisor to create a Weekly Report. This Weekly Report serves as a way for your supervisor to check in with how you are doing and what you have been working on, along with the progress of long-term projects.
Step 1: Open Google Docs and create a new document in the shared Weekly Reports folder that you have created.
Step 2: In the first section of the report, create 2 sections to include 'Completed Assignments' and 'Ongoing Assignments' that were worked on in the past week.
Step 3: Once research has begun on Issue Positions research in several states it is necessary to create a section of your weekly report that serves as a “Breakdown of Candidates for this week.” This is where you will list how many candidates in each state were researched over the past week. This information can be found through the weekly report created above.
Example:

Building a Work Tracker is an excellent way to keep track of not only the work you have done over the past week, but also the work of your interns. This can also be a great tool for tracking progress on Research projects each election cycle.
**Step 1:** Open up a new Google Sheet and place it in the shared folder where you keep all of the other Work Trackers. This gives you a way to go back and see how much work has been done on individual states in the past. Create a new tab on the sheet, and label with the dates it covers (eg. 06/17-06/23)
**Step 2:** Use the top row to help label the sheet as shown below:
||Group||State||Candidate List Updated?||Total Candidates Running||Sweep||Wednesday||Thursday||Friday||Monday||Tuesday||||Total||
**Step 3:** Now that the first row has been labeled, it is time to add in the Groups and corresponding states that fit into each NPAT Group (See [[PCTScheduling]]). NPAT Groups are decided by the Elections Director and PCT Administrator, and correspond to the schedule with which the administration of the Political Courage Test and determines the deadlines for Issue Positions research. If done correctly then it should look something like this:
||Group||State||Candidate List Updated?||Total Candidate Running||
||||AZ||Yes||41||
||||MI||Yes||58||
||||KS||Yes||32||
||||MO||Yes||49||
||||WA||Yes||73||
||||TN||Yes||72||
||||HI||Yes||28||
||G||MN||Yes||47||
||||CT||||5||
||||VT||Yes||8||
||||WI||Yes||31||
||||AK||Yes||10||
||||FL||Yes||112||
||||WY||Yes||21||
||||||Total||587||
**Step 4:** Now that you know what states are in each group it’s time to build a system for the sheet to keep track of how many candidates in each state, how many candidates each day, and how many candidates in each group you researched. In order to build a program to see how many candidates in each state you research you should go through each box underneath the Weekly Total box. You should then type in “=Sum” and then drag from Wednesday to Tuesday for each state.
**Step 5:** In order to build a system to keep track of how many candidates are researched in a single day, go to the boxes after the total number of candidates in each group. On the boxes from Wednesday-Tuesday you should type in “=Sum” and then drag down from the first state in the group to the bottom. At the end the sheet should look something like this:
||Group||State||Candidate List Updated?||Total Candidate Running||Wednesday||Thursday||Friday||Monday||Tuesday||||Total||
||||AZ||Yes||41||||||||||||||0||
||||MI||Yes||58||||||||||||||0||
||||KS||Yes||32||14||8||||||||||22||
||||MO||Yes||49||5||4||||8||9||||26||
||||WA||Yes||73||||||||26||30||||56||
||||TN||Yes||72||||||||||||||0||
||||HI||Yes||28||||||||||||||0||
||G||MN||Yes||47||||||||||||||0||
||||CT||||5||||||||||||||0||
||||VT||Yes||8||||||||||||||0||
||||WI||Yes||31||||||||||||||0||
||||AK||Yes||10||||||||||||||0||
||||FL||Yes||112||||20||18||||||||38||
||||WY||Yes||21||16||||||||||||16||
||||||Total||587||35||32||18||34||39||||158||
