Scope of Work
The database specialist works mainly with special projects. These are projects that Vote Smart never really had the personnel to handle them and/or nobody that wanted to deal with them.Tags Clean-Up: Tags were first implemented as a way to give Vote Smart's data some substance and with the thought that in the future, they would eventually become a part of our website. The tags project started in 2013 and hadn't had a clean up since then. The clean-up in the tags documentation began in March 2016 and ended in July 2016. 2016 tags documentation For this project the DB Specialist needs to be very familiar with both speech and bio tags.
Duplicate Candidates: There was a dupes project similar to this one in 2004-2005 (root/research/Confirmed Inactive by Mowery/Profiles (old)/Dupes Queries/Duplicate Bios). All bio information needs to be done manually by the database specialist and then IT can merge the two candidates together. This project began in July 2016 and ended in [enter date here when project is complete]. 2016 dupes documentation For this project the DB specialist needs to be very familiar with doing bios and to know what offices political resources collects, as well as having excellent proven research skills.
