Italics
Occasionally, the use of italics is appropriate in a summary. This is typically limited to when court cases are cited in the text of the summary. Like indented highlights and bold text, you must rely on HTML code in admin to achieve this. The code consists entirely of the following:
- <i> : This is the code used to initiate the italics effect.
- </i> : This is the code use to close the italics effect.
Anytime you are applying italics to text in admin, both the <i> and </i> code will be used. Never fail to close the italics application. Otherwise, it will be applied to the entire summary. Unlike the code for indented highlights, spacing is not an issues. Therefore, you won't need to have the text of the following highlight follow the code to close the bold effect immediately. Here is an example:
- U.S. Congress - S Amdt 2321 to S 1692 (Senate Amendment Vote), 1999.
