Lodge Inventory Expectations

Note: This is a working list of what should be present in each room, but always confirm expectation with the President and National Director. When you conduct an inventory, you will use this as your baseline of comparison. You will need to make a list of any repairs, purchases, or cleaning that needs to be done and coordinate these tasks
Everywhere
- all fire extinguishers are securely mounted on the wall, have a tag, and that tag has been updated recently with an inspection
- smoke detectors are all mounted as appropriate and refreshed with batteries every 6 months (changing batteries when the time changes is a good way of remembering to do this)
- make sure all overhead fans and lighting fixtures are clean
- all photos and permanent signs should be in nice frames with glass, screwed to the wall on the top and bottom. Each room should have at least 2 photos.
- anything plastic: see what we can do to replace it with something wooden or more solid and visually appealing
- all external doors to lodge rooms and common spaces should have doormats
Residences

- Is the room clean? corners? under the beds? Overhead fans? Lighting Ficture
- laminated wall sign about cleaning their rooms before they leave, in good condition
- beds sturdy, mattresses in good condition
- a clothing rack or other area to hang some clothes
- at least 10 hangers for clothing racks
- enough drawer space for the number of beds in there (1 dresser for every bunk bed is a good rule)
- dressers and other furniture in working, good-looking condition
- ideally, one night stand per bed or bunk bed
- at least one reading chair in good condition
- at least one desk per suite
- a chair for each desk
- enough lamps for the space (working bulbs, lamp shades present)
- at least two nice porch chairs for each porch
- curtains in good condition
- for member cabins (intern cabins optional): 2 towels, 1 washcloth, for each bed: 1-2 pillows with pillowcases, flat and fitted sheets, 1 blanket, 1 comforter, 1 mattress cover; extra microwaves, fridges, sofas, or luggage racks we may have
- all linens in unoccupied rooms must be sealed in bags or other containers so it stays clean and does not get rodent eaten.
Resident Bathrooms
- is the bathroom clean? toilet? floor? tub? sink?
- 2 packs of paper towels (more for outer buildings and public bathrooms)
- 3 rolls of toilet paper (more for outer buildings and public bathrooms)
- waste bin
- at least 2 garbage bags
- at least one liquid hand soap
- window curtain in good condition
- basic cleaning supplies (comet, sponge?, toilet brush, plunger, all purpose cleaner, broom?)
- laminated wall sign about what can't be flushed
- for those with bathtubs or showers:
- shower curtain in good condition
- 1 bath mat
- 1 anti-slip shower mat
- ideally, a storage rack or shower caddy
- towel bar
Communal Spaces
Communal Bathrooms
- is the bathroom clean? toilet? floor? tub? sink?
- 2 packs of paper towels (more for outer buildings and public bathrooms)
- 3 rolls of toilet paper (more for outer buildings and public bathrooms)
- waste bin
- at least 2 garbage bags
- at least one liquid hand soap

Laundry Rooms
- Plenty of Detergent, labeled with who it's for
- nice sign with laundry room hours
- adequate shelf space
- 3 washers and 3 dryers in Liberty; 1 of each in Jefferson
- basic cleaning supplies (comet, sponge?, toilet brush, plunger, all purpose cleaner, broom?, mop?)
- Project Vote Smart linens and laundry should be cleaned and returned to the linen storage room
Linen Storage
- make inventory of what we have and run it by National Director/President to see if it's adequate (some alarm clocks, 1-2 pillows for each bed either stored here or on the bed, pillow cases for the number of pillows we have, mattress pads, mattress pad blankets, fitted sheets for each size bed, flat sheets, blankets, comforters, towels, washcloths)
- make sure everything's organized and labeled
- put all linens in bags or containers so they stay clean and do not get rodent eaten.
Sports, Recreation, and Camping Supplies
(look in barn, sports shed, basement storage under Adams, Lodge, Game Room, TV Room, Lake if equipment already out)- sufficient, working: Tennis racquets, tennis balls, basket balls, bikes (+check tires), volley ball, badminton equipment, croquet, soft ball equip (at least 5 balls, 10 right handed mitts, a few left handed mitts, 3 bats), bocce ball, Ping pong balls, horseshoes, pool cues/tips, tents, sleeping bags, life jackets, etc.
- pool table, picnic table, foosball and other gaming tables in working order
- horse shoe pits okay (with fresh, leveled sand)
- tvs, vcrs, dvd players, satellite, gaming machines all set up and in working order (in tv room and game room) with the video library in good shape
- board games, puzzles and other recreational things adequate and in good shape
- make sure everything's organized and labeled
Kitchen Areas/Dining Room
- make inventory of what we have (how many of each kind of utensil-forks, teaspoons, tablespoons, butter knives, steak knives, plates, bowls, glasses, tupperware, coffee mugs, salt and pepper shakers, chairs, bar stools, dining tables, serving tables, etc.) and run it by National Director/President to see if it's adequate
- make sure we have enough tables and chairs to accommodate our maximum number of people
- make sure the appliances in the communal areas (typically 1-2 toasters, 1 toaster over, 2 microwaves) are in good working condition
Lodge Living Room, TV Room, Game Room
- have President inspect furniture (including sofas, stuffed chairs, lamps, coffee tables, end tables, stereo equipment) and let you know what needs to be replaced or reupholstered
- make sure curtains are in good shape
Pantry, Freezers (including downstairs below Adams), Refrigerators, Cleaning Supply Area, Medical Supplies
- you or the Cook should do a food inventory every few months so we use up the older food and restock where needed
- everything should be organized and labeled
- ensure we have plenty of working vacuums, mops, mop buckets, brooms extra vacuum bags for each vacuum
- ensure that we have plenty of Band-aids (assorted sizes), Ankle and wrist wraps, Gauze, Medical tape, Peroxide, Antibiotic cream, Ibubrofen, Antihistamine, Antacid out, and that the supplies for the kits (including oxygen and defribillator) are all fully stocked, working, accessible, and labeled “For Emergency Use or By Lodge Manager's Permission Only- Inform Lodge Manager of Any Use”
Gym/Sauna
- make sure equipment is safe and operational
Summer Outdoor Gear
- make sure courts (volleyball, tennis, basketball) are setup with nets and supplies and are in good shape
- make sure picnic tables, outside furniture, boats, oars, life jackets, etc. are all out
