**Kristen:** can we add the upcoming election date(s) to this page and eliminate it from other pages? Should there also be a "My Issue Positions" page that is linked to from here?
**Clinton:**
**Mike:**
**Luiz: **Change "New Zip" to "Back", the native back button. Add "Donate Now" as a list item. We can highlight it visually, but it shouldn't be bigger than the main options on the list. I understand we want donations, but the user is more interested in our data, specially when they are first using the application. These could be turned into larger icons as well. (Kristen- what about a donate button in the title bar of every page? I think our logo and/or the app name should be in the title bar of every page as well. Should the page title be there too?)
**Carly:** I agree with the Luiz on placing the Donate Now button as a menu option like the rest, and using 'back' instead of 'new zip.' All the menu items should be uniform, "My Candidates" "My Ballot Measures" "Register to Vote" "Vote Early or Absentee" "Find My Polling Place" ('Get to the polls' confused me), and yet to be determined, "About Project Vote Smart" "Donate Now" . Chris's idea is good, especially because we can't offer a Donate Now option if they don't know who we are, but instead of About Us, "About Project Vote Smart" just so they don't forget who we are from the start-up page to this page. Again, I have no idea what our limitations are so those last two menu items are up in the air. And donating via mobile may or may not be an issue(?). We should try to have some form of our logo on each app page too, just to bring the point home.
**Darren:**
**Chris L.:** Do we consider a short "About Us" section, or is this that getting away from the "keep this as simple as possible" idea? (Kristen- yes, this is critical)

//Transition: enter information and tap "Search", screen slides from right to left//
**Kristen:** add option to use current location if possible and to save location. Include name of tool, text about the tool and Vote Smart. I'd like to change "Search" to something more descriptive about what they're going to get, or perhaps something like "Get Started"
**Luiz:** I like it, it's simple and to the point. Don't forget there is also a "start up" image that we can use on iOS 3.0+. It is usually displayed while the application loads.
**Carly:** Is Project Vote Smart the name of the app? I would assumed this start page would read from the top, "App Name" then zip code option, and below that it would read "brought to you by Project Vote Smart (logo)." Anyone thought of a name? "The Smart Voter" ...may be taken. Overall, I like the simplicity too. On Chris's note, we keep coming back to this 9-digit zip code and the fact is, a lot of people especially the 'younger' generation who will be using this have no idea what their 9 digit zip code is, and we'll lose them once we ask for it. I know it is possible, but it may be out of our price range, but if some one types in their 5 digit zip code and there is an issue, they should be directed to another app page which would help them find their 9 digits and/or prompt them for their mailing address; on that note, could we only ask for their street name just for simplification? OR what if we always ask for their zip code and their street name at the start up?
**Chris L.:** Will need to direct users to enter either their 9 digit zip code or street address to avoid location search issues. Street address seems to be easier for users.
