Citing Sources
While we would prefer all of the quotes that you use in your Wrap Up to be from the Vote Smart website, you may find a better quote to represent the supporters or opponents viewpoints in a news article or different source. You can use this information, but will have to be sure to correctly cite your sources. When a citation is needed, you will insert a numerical superscript within the Wrap Up text, after your sentence's end punctuation, then have a listing of "References" below the entire Wrap Up. You might have to list two references for one sentence, in which case you will have a superscript "&" to divide the two (2 & 4). Also, if consecutive sentences discuss information from the same source, be sure to cite both sentences individually.
Information within the citation:
Citation #. Author Last Name, First Name (Date Webpage last updated). "Title of the article" <website of article> Publishing Entity Retrieved date.
Example:
1. Orr, Katie (September 16, 2014). "Brown Signs Historic Groundwater Legislation" <http://kvpr.org/post/brown-signs-historic-groundwater-legislation> Capital Public Radio Retrieved 16 September 2014.
