Office-wide Cleanup
Please take a “top-down” approach to cleaning your areas when dusting/ vacuuming. Start high by cleaning HVAC/Lights, etc, then work your way down to the floor. This will ensure we don’t have dust covering our newly cleaned surfaces/vacuumed floors. Questions about how or what to clean can be directed to directors or office manager.Everyone:
- If you see any broken, nasty, icky, bad, yucky, overall not good equipment let a director know.
- Please take any and all items out of the refrigerator. Anything left will be tossed to thoroughly clean.
- A recycling bin will be available for old materials no longer in use.
- The vacuum may not be available when you need it, be patient.
- Personal Desks
- Clean out desk drawers/throw away unnecessary papers.
- Organize materials and file old materials.
- Archive any organizational files.
- Dust computer monitor and keyboard (screen wipes and canned air available).
- Sanitize surface of desk.
- Clean chairs (back, seat and legs).
- Clean scuff marks on walls (magic eraser + little water).
- Return any unused communal equipment including electronics.
- Clean floor around desk where vacuum can’t reach.
- Vacuum floor around your desk space(If vacuum is unavailable, please move on to the next available task)
- Dust top of lighting fixtures and HVAC.
- Dust window blinds.
- Dust intern computers.
- Dust front shelves and table.
- Dust off TV.
- Dust intern desks.
- Sanitize intern desks and computers.
- Sanitize front table.
- Clean chairs (back, seat and legs).
- Clean all windows, window frames and doors inside the front office.
- Clean walls with Magic erasers, lean black scuff-runners along bottom of walls with damp towels and magic erasers.
- Take out all trash.
- Shake out mats by front doors.
- Spot clean carpets (use Resolve spray, scrub with hand brush and vacuum).
- Spot clean mats by front doors.
- Vacuum mats by front door.
- Vacuum area.
- Move front entry furniture, vacuum behind/under.
- Clean OUTSIDE windows, doors, door frames, and under windows.
Back Office
- Dust Lighting fixtures and HVAC.
- Dust top ledges and top of walls in hallway.
- Dust all intern stations (including those by printer).
- Dust picture frames.
- Dust unused desks.
- Sanitize unused desks.
- Take out all trash.
- Clean glass on pictures.
- Clean walls and black floor scuff-runners along walls.
- Clean walls and black floor scuff-runners along walls in hallways.
- Cable management.
- Spot clean carpet in back office area.
- Spot clean carpet in hallway.
- Vacuum hallway.
- Vacuum back office area.
Printer/Windows Station
- Dust printer.
- Dust Microsoft computer.
- Dust other smaller equipment.
- Dust/clean pictures.
- Clean printer area.
- Organize paper products & shelving.
- Organize under printer table.
- Cable Management.
Supplies Area
- Dust pictures and frames.
- Dust shelves.
- Clean picture glass.
- Sanitize shelves.
- Organize office supply shelf.
- Review supplies to be sure we have enough.
- Spot clean carpet.
- Vacuum supply area.
Backroom Shelving
- Throw out any trash/unused boxes.
- Take Drake promo items to basement, store by computer supplies/old printers.
- Dust shelving.
- Sanitize shelving.
- Organize Shelving.
- Vacuum carpet in middle-back room.
Garage/Archives
- Shake rugs outside.
- Organize tool boxes and cabinets.
- Store party supplies in basement next to old computer supplies/old printers.
- Check behind/under couch for trash and vacuum surfaces clean.
- Organize archives by type and year.
- Toss bad archive boxes and put contents in new paper box.
- Sweep cage and floor.
- Sweep server room (Mackenzie has key).
- Sweep basement stairs from cobwebs.
Kitchen
- Dust above cabinets and above refrigerator.
- Thoroughly clean out microwave.
- Dump crumbs in toaster and wipe clean with paper towel.
- Clean coffee maker (run 50/50 mix of water and white vinegar through, then scrub filter basket with paper towel and flush with fresh water twice).
- Clean kettle (same as with coffeemaker).
- Clean counters (including under small appliances).
- Scrub sink.
- Clean out fridge and freezer.
- Sanitize inside and outside fridge and freezer.
- Empty cabinets and sanitize inside.
- Clean walls including behind the microwave.
- Go through First Aid.
- Toss out any expired medication/supplies.
- Note any expired medication/supplies and give list to office manager for reorder.
- Clean and organize under sink.
- Vacuum kitchen area
Conference Room
- Dust ceiling vent.
- Dust lighting fixtures.
- Dust pictures and plaques.
- Dust projector.
- Clean glass on pictures and plaques.
- Clean conference table.
- Lift and clean under glass (Get assistance to lift glass).
- Clean chairs (front, back, and legs).
- Clean scuffed walls.
- Clean windows.
- Empty trash.
- Vacuum.
Bathrooms
- Dust ceiling vent.
- Dust lighting fixtures.
- Dust paper towel dispenser.
- Clean mirrors (windex).
- Clean shelves.
- Organize shelves.
- Clean sinks.
- Clean toilets.
- Disinfect surfaces (door handles, soap dispenser, toilet surfaces, etc).
- Replace air fresheners.
- Clean black wall/floor runners and remove any scuffs on walls.
- Sweep(pull shelves away from wall and sweep behind.
- Mop floor.
- Remove and sanitize mop heads in bucket(appx 1 gal water to ¼ cup bleach).
Other Tasks
- Help other areas if needed (check in with directors or Mackenzie).
- Make sure all trash has been taken out to dumpster.
- Sweep corners and crevices around doors and along wall outside.
- Clear any trash in front of office.
- Pull any foliage growing in cracks.
- Clean side lot of any trash.
- Clean back parking lot of trash.
- Clear concrete areas of broken concrete/large stones.
- Remove any sharp objects that may cause flat tires.
