Past VoteEasy Research

Candidates who ran in a previous election that was covered with VoteEasy Research (whether they won or lost) will have old, but often still relevant, research in our database. Evidence from previous VoteEasy Research will only apply to identical or similar questions on the newest Political Courage Test. Consult with the National Director to determine what evidence and determinations are appropriate to transfer in bulk, and coordinate with IT to transfer this data to the current VoteEasy profile. Note: VoteEasy spreadsheets from previous years saved in the network shared drive do not represent the most comprehensive, up-to-date candidate data and should not be used. This relies on you knowing who the candidates are first, so likely candidates will need to be added to our database first. You will also need to develop a procedure with IT as to how to transfer data to candidates identified later in the process.

When evidence is transferred, it is important to keep in mind that this will be missing recent evidence and newly-added standardized evidence. There will likely still be some work required to make determinations and collect evidence where evidence was not transfered.

Since the evidence is old, there may be broken links. Do not worry about this at this time.

Even if old research is enough for a determination, conduct a quick search for recent statements or position changes.
