Step 6. Checking & Revising:
After you prepare a summary sheet, it will be checked three times (third check is a staff check). You will revise your summary sheet between checks. Keep old summary sheets in the vote's hard-copy folder with the newest one on top of the pile.
Basic Process:
- Check the accuracy of information on the summary sheet against the state's legislative site and the spreadsheet.
- Check for spelling and grammatical errors.
- Ensure accessible, non-partisan language.
- Check the actual votes to make sure what's on the live PVS website is correct.
Write suggestions/corrections on the hard copy of the summary sheet. Do not make them on the electronic copy.
When you finish a check, place it in your team's In Progress folder or return it to the summary's author.
When your summary is perfected, your supervisor will enter it into the existing Admin entry for that bill and release it to the PVS website. It well then be web checked before being placed in the file cabinet or archived.
