Roll Call Numbers
The roll call number is a number assigned by the legislature to a vote. If the roll number is "246" then it is likely to have been the 246th vote in that legislature's session. Some legislature's refer to it as a "sequence number," and it is typically located on the voting record sheet. However, some states have them listed in the bill history and/or journal. The slight majority of states do not have roll call numbers available.
