Vote Entering - Entering Votes in Admin Guide
Governor's Status - Screenshot Guide
Step 1: Create a Status for the Governor's Action
If the Governor has signed a bill, you must enter a status for this action. Remember, DO NOT ENTER VETOES! Notify a staff member if the bill has been vetoed.
For signed bills, create a new status the same way that you did for the Key Vote(s) and Other Statuses for Web. For "Level," select "Governor," and for "Outcome", select "Passed". Then enter the status date, rank and title. As with every status, you can select the categories and tags by choosing the 'use earlier' feature. Leave everything else blank and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Step 2: Change the Action to "Sign"
Click on "View Votes and Actions" and search for the Governor's name using a "Find in This Page" (CTRL+F). Click "Add." Then click on the hyperlinked name of the Governor and select "Sign" from the drop-down Action menu.
Exit this window and click "Save."
NOTE: Occasionally you will see a bill become law without the governor's signature. In these cases, do create a governor stage in admin but do not enter in a governor's action (ie sign/veto). An appropriate headline will automatically appear on the website explaining what happened to the bill.
