Additions:
UA interns are required to complete a minimum of 45 work hours per credit hour over the course of their internship to be considered in good standing and receive credit. This works out to 135 hours for three credits. Thus, if you miss hours due to planned trips, personal reasons, or illness you must make up the time by arrangement with the Internship Coordinator.
If you are unable to report to work on your scheduled shift, the Internship Coordinator should be advised by phone or in person before you are scheduled to work.
After you return to work, submit a written proposal for making up missed time to the Internship Coordinator. (Exceptions may be made for certain emergency situations; e.g. a death in the family.)
If you would like to take time off for planned trips, events, commitments, etc., you must submit a written request to the Internship Coordinator at least 2 days before you would like to take the time. However, the earlier that you submit a request, the more likely it is to be approved, so please submit your requests more than 2 days in advance, if possible. Your request should also include a plan for making up the hours that you will miss.
You may make up the time before or after your absence. Please plan to make up hours in one-hour time blocks, unless otherwise directed by the Internship Coordinator.
Please consult the Internship Coordinator before making changes to your make-up schedule.
If you fail to notify the Internship Coordinator of absence from work, take planned time off without obtaining prior approval, or not do follow your approved make-up schedule, a disciplinary meeting will be held.
