Discipline Policy

Project Vote Smart and/or the University of Texas shall have sole discretion in determining whether any given act or conduct by an employee or intern warrants discipline and, if warranted, the nature of the discipline to be imposed. Discipline may include oral warnings, written warnings, demotion, job reassignment, or discharge from the Project. Possible infractions that would result in discipline include, but are not limited to, violation of the harassment policy, repeated tardiness or absenteeism, failure to complete required tasks, violation of the non-partisan policy, and any illegal acts such as stealing or violence in the workplace.

In addition to the Project’s policies, all interns are expected to adhere to the regulations and policies of the University of Texas at Austin, including the University’s Honor Code and the Standards of Conduct. Non-UT students must also adhere to their own institutions' standards and policies regarding academic and nonacademic conduct.
