Collection of Election Results

Unofficial Results
Find results: Unofficial election results should be retrieved the morning after an election. Considering that NY Times clearly lists the winners, it is easier to use the New York Times first to determine winners for most elections (Washington Post and Politico are also good for federal and some statewide races, but NYT is the only one that also covers state elections too). Election Results from the Secretary of States should be used for races that are not 100% reporting or Too Close to Call elections.

If you cannot find results, contact the state's election office directly (Usually Secretary of State Websites or State Board of Election websites). Results may have to be pieced together from different sources, making sure every office and district is accounted for. If the results only include contested races, the most up-to-date candidate list will be used to select winners in conjunction with the results.
Official, Certified Election Results
Certified election results will be available on the Secretaries of States websites. Contact the SOS if certified results are not available shortly after the election, or if it is unclear whether the results on their site are official or not.
