Press File
The press file is a collection of articles about the vote that we have selected, arranged by whichever Key Votes staff member or intern has made the potential selection. Once you have selected a vote to enter, a copy of the press file should already be available in the appropriate folder.
As with other documents saved to the bill folder, the name of the document will contain the stage to ensure that you are opening the correct version. For example, if we are covering the Senate Passage of a bill, the title of the document will be something like "Press File_H 433_Senate Passage." Or, if we are covering the House Conference Report vote and the Senate Conference Report vote, the title of the document will be something like "Press File_H 433_House&Senate Conference Report."
Typically, there is only one copy of the press file. However, if we have two vote selections for one bill, but they were selected on different dates, there might be two press files; the stage of each will be listed in the name of the document. For example, if we selected the House Passage of a bill on 03-12-2018 and we later select the Senate Passage with Amendment of the same bill on 03-19-2018, there might be an updated press file for the Senate Passage with Amendment stage with additional articles.
