Additions:
The press file is a collection of articles about the vote that we have selected, arranged by whichever Key Votes staff member or intern has made the potential selection. Once you have selected a vote to enter, a copy of the press file should already be available in the appropriate folder.
As with other documents saved to the bill folder, the name of the document will contain the stage to ensure that you are opening the correct version. For example, if we are covering the Senate Passage of a bill, the title of the document will be something like "Press File_H 433_Senate Passage." Or, if we are covering the House Conference Report vote and the Senate Conference Report vote, the title of the document will be something like "Press File_H 433_House&Senate Conference Report."
Typically, there is only one copy of the press file. However, if we have two vote selections for one bill, but they were selected on different dates, there might be two press files; the stage of each will be listed in the name of the document. For example, if we selected the House Passage of a bill on 03-12-2018 and we later select the Senate Passage with Amendment of the same bill on 03-19-2018, there might be an updated press file for the Senate Passage with Amendment stage with additional articles.
Deletions:
The press file is a collection of articles about the vote that we have selected, arranged by whichever Key Votes staff member or intern tracks that specific state. Once you have selected a vote(s) to enter, a copy of the press file should already be available in the appropriate electronic folder.
As with other documents saved to the electronic folder, the name of the document will contain the stage(s) you are dealing with to ensure that you are opening the correct version. For example, if we are covering the Senate Passage of a bill, the title of the document will be something like "Press File - H 433 - Senate Passage." Or, if we are covering the House Conference Report Vote and the Senate Conference Report Vote, the title of the document will be "Press File - H 433 - House & Senate Conference Report Votes," or some variation of that.
Typically, there is only one copy of the press file. However, if we have two vote selections for one bill, but they were selected on different dates, there might be two press files - the stage of each will be listed in the name of the document. For example, if we selected the House Passage of a bill on 07/13/2010 and we later select the Senate Passage with Amendment of the same bill on 07/15/2010, there might be an updated press file for the Senate Passage with Amendment stage with additional articles. In this case, you would have two press files.

The press file is a collection of articles about the vote that we have selected, arranged by whichever Key Votes staff member tracks that specific state. Once you have selected a vote(s) to enter, a copy of the press file should already be available in the appropriate electronic folder. You will print out a copy of this for the physical folder.
Like other documents saved to the electronic folder, the name of the document will contain the stage(s) you are dealing with to ensure that you are opening the correct version. For example, if we are covering the Senate Passage of a bill, the title of the document will be "Press - Senate Passage." Or, if we are covering the House Conference Report Vote and the Senate Conference Report Vote, the title of the document will be "Press - House & Senate Conference Report Votes," or some variation of that.

Deletions:
Typically, there is only one copy of the press. If that is the case, there should only be one copy of the press printed. Do not print two copies of the press simply because you are entering two votes for a singl bill and you have two physical folders. There is no reason to have two hard copies of the same exact document when the folders will remain together throughout the entire process. However, if we have two selections for one bill, but they were selected on different dates, there might be two press files - the stage of each will be listed in the name of the document. When you encounter this, there will be two hard copies of the press printed out, each of which shall be placed in the appropriate physical folder. For example, if we selected the House Passage of a bill on 07/13/2010 and we later select the Senate Passage with Amendment of the same bill on 07/15/2010, there might be an updated press file for the Senate Passage with Amendment stage with additional articles.
