Orphaned Pages and Duplicate Content Assigned for Cleanup:
General Instructions
- Backlinks (the pages linking to a page in question) can be viewed by adding "/backlinks" to the end of that page's URL
- Referrers ("external" pages linking to a page in question) can be viewed by adding "/referrers" to the end of that page's URL
- Before recommending a page for deletion make sure: necessary content is incorporated into an existing page that is to be kept and that all "backlinks" and "referrers" pages have their links changed to the appropriate page
- Only admins (ND and IT) have the permissions to delete a page, so you will need to tell the appropriate person the pages to delete
- Once cleanup is done as instructed, remove the task from this list.
Research Department:
Speeches:
mostly-non-orphans that are not linked to from main speeches guide (incorporate and/or delete)
Federal (orphaned- should transform this into a page that explains how we used to use FNS, what happened with them, and how this impacts current behavior)
http://wiki.votesmart.org/Press (only linked to from Federal)
http://wiki.votesmart.org/speechesinternexpectations (only linked to from http://wiki.votesmart.org/SpeechesAdmin - should it link to master intern expectations?) -
http://wiki.votesmart.org/StaffandInternExpectations doesn't have specifics for intern expectations, but http://wiki.votesmart.org/speechesinternexpectations does. I think it is good in its current location. Let me know if you disagree, and we can figure out something -KD.

Key Votes Department:
Pages with Issue Category titles (see full list of pages assigned to your dept below)
1. Decide if this is still useful in some way to your deparment(presumably as a way to standardize titles?)? If so, link to from the appropriate place on the manual
2. If not useful to Key Votes, it is likely useful to Ben as he figures out category definitions. Ben should then be assigned go through these and incorporate into definitions of categories.
3. If it's decided to delete these pages rather than link them somewhere, consult with Kristen for deletion
Many Duplicate/Unlinked Pages
1. Do a one-to-one comparison with current Key Votes Manual and determine what's been changed or is missing from your current manual. Merge the two together.
2. when complete, let an admin (Kristen or IT) know which pages to delete.
